Rewind. Delete. Record.

My friend got me thinking recently, why do we give to the homeless? He linked me to an article in RELEVANT magazine. It brings up subjects like whether or not the person will use the money you give them for appropriate things, and the doubt if the person is scamming you or not.

It's got me wondering, because when I see a person who, in my mind, is going to use the money I give them for anything negative, I don't give. End of story. No exceptions. But, is that how I should be? How do I know what they will use it for? God didn't call us to discriminate. Jesus called all of us to help each other without the distraction of our own prejudices (The Parable of the Good Samaritan; Luke 10: 25-37).

So my prayer for myself and everyone else is that we can learn to give without our own judgmental attitudes in the way, and that, when the Lord leads us, we follow.

PS I had a really angry post written out and edited, then scrapped it for this, hence the name.
