Silhouette

An absolute silhouette surged from the sky
With the ominous foreshadowing of the following days
Holding onto what we thought once was
Pressing onward through this sinister haze

We sought for even a propitious glimmer
A streak of hope to brighten the skies
And trusted this faith in something unknown
To keep us safe from oncoming demise

Jenna's back!

When my family first moved to South Africa, in August 2007, we lived with a girl named Jenna for about three months. It was an absolutely splendid time that we got to spend with her, and now she is the only person I will call my sister besides my sister-in-law, Bethany. Anyhow, up until two days ago, I hadn't seen Jenna in two years. My surrogate sister. I hadn't seen her in two years...
Needless to say, I'm ecstatic that she's here. I'm not showing it though, so, shh, don't tell her. I'm looking forward to the next week and a half of driving her absolutely insane and verbally sparring with her on a regular basis, also, I'm pumped that she'll be convincing us to go into Mbekweni, the black community, more often than Paarl East, the colored community. Just to clear something up, the politically correct term for the three people groups in the valley I live in are: people with 100% tribal blood are black, whites are the same as in America, and colored, while politically incorrect in America and horribly offensive, is the acceptable and expected term to call anybody who isn't fully tribal or white.
One negative thing to note on that happened today: I was unable to go to our local hospice and hang out with my great friend Khanyisa.

He is both blind and HIV+ and yet has more spirit than most people I know. Last week he spent the last twenty minutes of our time together reciting Eminem lyrics into his carrot.
Now, I am off to watch season 4 of the Office with my family.

New Blog! YEEE!!!

I finally got a blog after about a year and a half of saying, "Man, I should get a blog! That'd be a great place to empty the nonsense in my brain!"
So first ever blog, here I go:

My brain has been in a dry-spell for about a month, resulting in nothing being written. Then, out of nowhere, my good buddy suggests writing a story with them. What the story is about I won't divulge, but the fact that it is what brought me out of this dry-spell has really brightened my attitude. So even if you won't know anything about that story, unless I talk to you personally, you can expect further posts by me to be poems and updates on what I have written.
This was short and sort of sloppy, but I felt, making this account/profile, I should put at least one post up. In the future, along with what I have written, expect a more articulated and in-depth look into who I am and what I am thinking.
Until then, I wuv you all
